The Wilcox bed combines the rustic beauty of reclaimed wood with the simplicity of good design. The headboard is artfully composed of select pieces of rustic wood to create a unique, handcrafted mosaic and the thick side rails are made of solid, smooth reclaimed beams. The entire bed is elevated above the floor by four 7″ steel legs. All of our handmade furniture uses only reclaimed Douglas Fir from local sources. The wood was originally harvested over 100 years ago from old growth trees, which have superior strength and density which adds to the durability and beauty of the finished product. Choosing reclaimed woods reduces forest clear cutting, landfill use and air pollution.
Frame includes 13 solid wood slats spaced 2 inches apart which allows for ideal support and healthy air flow for all types of mattresses and does not require a foundation or box spring. Slats are slightly inset to keep mattress in place.
